ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

My name’s Michael Joyce but I’m sure you already knew that from the title of the page.  I grew up and still live in the wonderful city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  I’m a film nut (I probably watch between 1 and 2 movies a day on average).  Things I love are: my girlfriend, Mountain Dew (her blog), mountains, umm…dew, writing, blogging, vlogging, the vlogbrothers, boxing, Katiee “the lizard queen” Blink (her blog), the Geico lizard, photography, the chinese straightsword, the rope dart, teaching, my students, reading Joseph Campbell, Dune, Coldplay, The Smiths, Northern Exposure (yes, the t.v.show), 24 (the show, not the number), Yoda, exercise physiology, working my speedbag, magic (big David Blaine fan), flying (got my license in 1998), Ray LaMontagne, Calvin and Hobbes, Jesus, Jason Castro, the Buddhas, Mohatma Gandhi, Sean Penn (his acting is godlike. “is that my daughta in there?…is that my daughta in there?), the Sopranos, my Italian and Irish heritage, cuddly hugs, and creating delicious dishes with Texas Pete hot sauce.  I’m sure there’s much much more, but that’s the jist.
